Time management
There is a broad difference between quantity and quality when it comes to managing the use of our time.
No matter how much we want it, we will not get more time. As we get busier and busier, time becomes a commodity even more valuable than money, but each of us only have a limited amount of time - take it or leave it....
In this respect, the playing field is level.
- Everyone gets the same twenty-four hours in a day.
- Your competition has no more hours in a day than you.
- The richest man cannot buy even one more minute of time in a day!
- You can only manage yourself and activities more effectively.

Intelligent and organised planning of your actions each step of the way will give you far better results than storming ahead at a hundred miles per hour. So how do you go about your action planning?
Before you can do any serious planning you must have defined your long-term, medium-term and short-term goals as covered in the previous chapter. If your goal is to increase your income by £6,000 a year, you need to decide whether to do it by increasing the efficiency of your business, by taking an extra job or by changing what you do altogether? If your goal is to increase your income by £30,000 per year, you need to decide how to do that.
It will take some mental work to decide how to go about reaching your goals and the best thing you can do is to involve your subconscious mind. When you start thinking 'I can' instead of 'I can't' your subconscious will come up with solutions for you.
