"Come in, come in," the figure said. "When the student is ready, the teacher appears," he continued. Cautiously Clare moved around the figure with the broad shoulders and the horned helmet to face this motionless warrior, ready to turn and run at the first sign of danger. The Viking motioned her to sit down, he had an almost magnetic aura surrounding him and Clare sat down, surrendering to his overwhelming presence.
"You are wondering what to do about this urge, this compelling force, which is tugging at your heart and tickling your mind, aren't you?"
His eyes seemed to look straight through her.
"The answer is that you can choose to ignore it, or you can choose to follow it."
Clare felt apprehensive. How did he know about her secret longing for something indefinable, something better? Was he for real, or was she imagining things?
"Understand," he said, "that the easiest option is to ignore the urge, but the most rewarding is to follow it."
Clare wanted to follow the urge, she wanted more out of life.
